Sorry it’s been awhile since I posted a design. Been doing some artwork for sports teams lately, which has kept me from blogging.
It was a toss-up between S.H.I.E.L.D. and B.P.R.D., and my Canadian quarter came up moose (tails), so Nick Fury’s team gets a design today.
The main logo is the newer TV version which has a more rounded eagle head and beveled appearance compared to its look in The Avengers. The secondary logo is a homage to the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo seen in the comics (the Ultimates version I believe). And lastly I added the MARVEL logo because I think it works great as a brand tag.
Usually I’m not a fan of black and white sports teams (or black for black’s sake as designers would say), but S.H.I.E.L.D. just really warrants the look. This design was inspired by the current L.A. Kings home uniform.
